As a child growing up in the '70s in New York, Ron was fascinated by popular music. He amassed a collection of thousands of records. His love of music, led him to start a DJ business in 1983 - the same year that Michael Jackson's blockbuster "Thriller" was released. That company, Big Hits Entertainment, is still in business today, now owned and operated by longtime friend Gerry Anton . After moving to San Diego in 1987, Ron started Sundance Productions with childhood friend and business partner Eric Sands. Sundance is still one of Southern California's leading DJ companies, now specializing in highly interactive events and parties.
Upon moving to Colorado in 1992, Ron turned his attention towards weddings. He has been hired by more than 700 couples in the last 17 years. For the last decade, he has operated his business virtually without any paid advertising, instead relying on referrals from past clients and other wedding vendors and venues. He is continually looking to improve and learn as much as he can - even after more than 20 years in the business. He annually attends seminars, workshops, and conferences nationwide on DJ and wedding related topics.
Ron's hobbies include almost anything outdoors. He is an avid cyclist and has ridden more than 60,000 miles by bicycle. He has completed many tours in all corners of the United States, plus Canada, Mexico, and Europe. In 1986, he spent the summer cycling solo across the country from Los Angeles to New York in 57 days. He has also run more than 30 marathons and completed two Ironman triathlons. He enjoys traveling with his wife Jill, and has visited all 50 states as well as 20 foreign countries. Summer 2009 saw the addition of their new dog "Papi", a feisty 7-pound Papillon puppy.
Since childhood, Ron has been a supporter of animal rescue shelters and adoption programs both locally and nationwide. He donates 100% of all revenue from non-wedding events to his two favorite charities, the Larimer Humane Society and the Animal House Rescue Shelter.
